Have you considered just publishing the book by yourself? It might entail lots of needless hardships and be financially catastrophic, but imagine what fun it might be!
Though if you think your book is imperfect rather than just unpopular then you should try to find a reliable editor to work through it with you. The worst you can do to a manuscript, good or bad, is to let it rot in some drawer for year and decades without having some plan for it.
FYI, some dude broke the world record in competitive scrabble for high word score a few months back. "Quixotry" in the upper right hand corner of the board for 365 points (two triple words, the "x" on the double letter etc.). Fascinating that this will surely be the highlight of someon'e's week.
Well he had a blog about his male gigolo adventures. Then one day on his blog appeared a message from a friend that read something like "Ethan died of overdose, need help finding his parents/relatives in Europe"
Then the blog was deleted. CCG had some dealings with him, and had him on her blogroll, now removed.
I don't know anything about the Ethan situation. I saw the post regarding his death, but I have no way of knowing anything more. Ethan and I only communicated through email.
I've never thought you were a fake, CCG. What you write, and the way you write, has always seemed so honest, like many of us could have written it ourselves. Not all of us have great spelling and grammar, but some of us do, and some of us smart girls have big tits, and some of us are horny, and some of us sleep around. Maybe the people who think you're fake can't see that those things can coexist.
Yeah. I get lots of weird mail. But number one is probably dudes who want to buy me. I just tell them I would never meet anyone through the blog.
That's interesting--if I were coming up with a list of ways that a sex worker would categorically refuse to meet clients, I'm not sure that "through her blog" would jump out at me as such an unseemly or dangerous method. "Through her day job," "through her parents," "at a truck stop," sure.
I'd be interested to know your thinking on this. (Thus far no one has approached me for paid sex through my blog, but it's important to think these things through in advance.)
Actually, I naively would have thought that you might regard CCG readers as a positively-selected class of potential clients, because anyone who soliticts you after reading your blog has got to be comfortable with the idea that there is a mind connected to the body he is "buying" (your term), and that the encounter between sex worker and client may be more complex at times than a pure dollars-for-flesh transaction.
Hey CCG! What's a nice non-creepy way to say "I would love to snarf down pcp for a weekend in a strange city with you, but I know this'll never happen in real life and that's cool" to one's favorite net writer? Just curious
CCG, are you still hooking? I sort of thought you aren't, but not I'm not sure. (And no, I'm not soliciting. Just curious. I'm in LA, for pete's sake.)
I agree with the ethical slut. She was just a stripper, now she's got Stephen Speilburg on speed dial. Just go for it. worst that can happen is nothing happens.
Yo.. you are so interesting! I have been a hobbyist for 8 years and if only I could get just a hint of where to find you for hire, I would do so in a hot minute!
My wife and I self published our own book. We started out using a print on demand place like lulu.com and after we made enough money, went off to find out own printer and went from there. Lulu even got us on Amazon.com. So far in 2 years we have sold just shy of 3000 copies, got our own distribution deal, and just made it into a major outdoor retailer. Not bad for something we thought might sell 100 tops.
Anyhow, if you are interested and need some advice, drop me a line. I'd love to help. It is amazing what technology can do and how professional a product one can produce these days and look just like one of the big publishing houses. I am still amazed we have gotten as far as we have. Just think, with the audience of your blog, lets say it is 1000 readers (I have no idea) if 50% of those people would buy your book on lulu.com (or other POD outlets) and you get $6 royalty each book, that is $3000 for putting it out there and putting a link on your blog. If you do that math and with your following, it would ad up. Then if you want to go to a "real" publishing house you have a real book in hand and can say that with just your web site you sold a few thousand copies. that speaks volumes!

dude, I would totally challenge you to a game of 'scrabulous to the death' if it wouldn't thwart your anonymity. shame.

Be kind to your manuscript.
You'll catch your break, CCG...just look at that chick who wrote the script for Juno.
I am a writer, and I would like to be able to write about other things someday.
Like my ass instead of my vagina.
Haaaha, I love it.
And you do write about your ass sometimes, just in a less fun way.

Loved the interview! And I would totally play against you at scrabulous. Love it!
You little blogging celebrity, you! I'm actually really surprised at the book getting turned down, what with your built in marketing scheme and all.
Would you publish anonymously, though, or as CCG?
I know why people think your blog is fake.
You write very well, no misspelling or other errors which a "stereotypical hooker" would do. As they are known for their smarts.
Any chance for you to comment on Ethan's death?
andreytcho - who's Ethan?

So I just wondered.......

I wonder if the desire to remain annonymous would be enough to make one avoid writing a book?
CCG gets more and more readers everyday. Seems like it's only a matter of time until the price is right for an actual picture of you.
In the chat you say:

holy:
My blog is anonymous. If I meet guys through the blog then they know who the writer of the blog is and my anonymity is compromised.
